Tame Impala had something particularly valuable behind this call: previous resale performance at the same London venue.

The previous O2 date reportedly generated more than 4,500 secondary-market sales by event day, while ticket prices increased after the original release. That provided a much stronger foundation than simply betting on artist popularity.

The downside was the higher £70–£115 entry price and roughly 40,000 tickets across two London nights. This made ticket selection particularly important. Cheap seats remained the safest starting point, but where floors or good lowers were only marginally more expensive, the better location could justify the additional spend.
