Springbank’s Local Barley 2010 (13 YO) release flipped for over 2x retail, thanks to its rarity, distillery rep, and collector demand.
The Springbank 1994 Vintage was one of the standout whisky flips of June, giving members the chance to turn a meaningful £1,000 principal into £350–£500 profit per bottle. Springbank already carries a cult following in the whisky world, but this release had even more weight behind it thanks to its 31-year age statement, limited run and the continued demand for premium Campbeltown whisky.
This was not a low-entry flip, but that is exactly what made it interesting. Plenty of notice was given before release; many members were able to secure multiples, and the market quickly backed up the play with sales landing in the £1,350–£1,500 range once bottles started moving.
Springbank’s reputation alone gave this bottle a strong resale floor before launch, especially with older official releases continuing to attract collectors.
The 31-year age statement and limited run of 1,180 bottles made it one of the most desirable whisky releases of the month.
A £1,000 entry price meant this was a higher-principal flip, but the expected return was strong enough to justify going after multiples for anyone with the budget.
Early resale prices in the £1,350–£1,500 range quickly confirmed the opportunity and gave members a very healthy return on a serious spend.
This was a great example of why House of Resell’s whisky flips are worth tracking, as premium bottles can still deliver excellent ROI even with a four-figure buy-in.
